Delegation of Japanese Medical Corporation Otsubo Society Visited Jilin University
On January 22 and 23, with the support of the Japanese government and to promote the development of international medical care, four delegates from organizations under the Japanese Medical Corporation Otsubo Society including Junya Kishimoto, director of the Department of Affairs at Towa Hospital, Yasushi Ishige, head of the Department of Physiotherapy at Tohto College of Health Sciences visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Jilin University, China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University and the School of Nursing.
During the visit, Professor Wang Shengjin, a senior professor of philosophy and social sciences, former deputy secretary and vice president at Jilin University, met with the delegation. During the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the aging problem in both countries as well as the related social problems and countermeasures. After the meeting, Professor Wang Shengjin presented the “Golden Age” collection to the delegation. Relevant responsible persons from the Office of Global Engagement accompanied the visit.
On January 22, the delegation visited the First Hospital of Jilin University and the China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University. Zhao Guoqing, president of China-Japan Union Hospital, Zhang Tianfu, deputy president of China-Japan Union Hospital, and Liu Bin, deputy president of the First Hospital of Jilin University, held a meeting with the delegation. During the meeting, the two sides introduced each other’s profiles, especially the history, current situation and the development of their rehabilitation departments. They studied and compared the similarities and differences in the field of rehabilitation in China and Japan, and conducted in-depth discussions on future practical exchanges and cooperation. After the meeting, the delegation visited the rehabilitation departments of the two hospitals and were shown the current rehabilitation equipment and methods in China. The delegation introduced Japanese rehabilitation therapies to teachers in JLU and conducted related researches.
In the morning of January 23, the delegation visited the School of Nursing of Jilin University. Li Kun, associate dean of the School of Nursing, held a meeting with the delegation. During the meeting, he introduced the disciplinary structure of the School of Nursing, employment of the graduates and future development goals. After the meeting, the delegation exchanged ideas with the teachers and students from the rehabilitation major of the School of Nursing on related topics.
Established in 2003, the Japanese Medical Corporation Otsubo Society has 18 hospitals (including hospitals specializing in rehabilitation), 5 clinics, 12 nursing facilities, Tohto College of Health Sciences and nursing colleges in Tokyo and the surrounding cities, contributing to Japan’s health care system and the aging society.
