Vice President Zheng Weitao Meets Delegation led by Artyom Yu. Rykun, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Tomsk State
On March 15, 2019, Vice President Zhen Weitao met with Artyom Yu. Rykun, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, S. L. Lyakhovich, Director of the Department of Quantum Field Theory, and Svetlana Kulikova, senior researcher at the Laboratory of Physics of Nonlinear Media at the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science at National Research Tomsk State University. Personnel in charge of the College of Physics and the Office of Global Engagement attended the meeting.
Founded in 1878, National Research Tomsk State University was the first comprehensive university to be established in Russia’s Asian territory. In 2013, it was selected into Project 5-100 which was launched by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. It currently ranks as the 13th best university in Russia. As one of the most important universities in central Russia, it has over 15,000 students and 47 research and educational centers. In the 2019 QS World University Rankings by Subject, its physics and astronomy major program ranks in the category of 201st to 250th in the world.
