Delegation of Linköping University Visits Jilin University
On March 21st, Zhen Weitao, Vice President of Jilin University, met with Maria Engelmark, Director of International Affairs, Professor Ulf Karlsson, former Director of Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and Professor Ni Weixin from Department of Surface and Semiconductor Physics from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Linköping University. Personnel in charge of the Office of Global Engagement, College of Materials Science and Engineering and College of Electronic Science and Engineering also attended the meeting.
The delegation visited the College of Materials Science and Engineering and the College of Electronic Science and Engineering to discuss topics including
short-term programs and joint educational programs for students. The delegation held a session to introduce in detail the joint educational program to material science and electronics majors at Jilin University. They also visited the Laboratory of Automobile Materials, a key laboratory under Chinese Ministry of Education, and Joint Laboratory of Integrated Optoelectronics, a national key laboratory.
Founded in 1960, Linköping University is a comprehensive state university in Sweden. The university consists of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and was the first to launch Sweden’s first doctoral programs in computer science, industrial management and mechanical engineering. According to the 2019 Best Global Universities ranking by U.S. News, the computer science program in Linköping University ranks 74th worldwide and its material science program ranks 107th.
