School of Marxism Studies
School of Marxism Studies provides courses on ideological and political theories for all the undergraduates, master’s degree, and Ph. D. candidates at Jilin University. It also provides M.A. and Ph. D. programs focused on studies of Marxist theories. In 2003, our school was authorized to grant the First-level Discipline degrees in Marxist theories. The year 2007 saw the establishment of the postdoctoral Marxist theories research position. In 2011, our First-level Discipline of Marxist theories program became one of the Key Disciplines of Jilin Province.
Constructing an open and international School of Marxism Studies is one of our major goals. In order to achieve this, we have attached great importance to the internationalization of our teachers and students as well as our teaching methods. Many internationally renowned scholars have been invited to give lectures in our School while simultaneously encouraging our scholars to go abroad as visiting fellows to further their research and study and to attend international conferences. Nearly 20 faculty members have overseas experiences of more than one year. At present, three of our M.A. and Ph.D. candidates are in the United State of America and Australia as part of exchange programs. We are working on creating our own international exchange program.
