On the morning of October 18th, the opening ceremony of the foreign-aid training programs “Seminar for Education Officials from Developing Countries, 2016” sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and organized by Jilin University, was held in Jilin University. Mr. Zhu Jian from Division of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation, Department of Commerce of Jilin Province, Dr. Zhang Guangcui, Director of Office of Global Engagement of Jilin University attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches while Mr. Rafael Moragalan, the Head of Department for Basic Secondary Education, Provincial Education Headquarters from Santiago of Cuba, delivered a speech on behalf of all the delegates. The opening ceremony was hosted by Dr. Zhang Leisheng, the Researcher of the Institute of Higher Education in Jilin University, who is also one of the professors in the seminar.
The seminar will last for 21 days in which 45 educational officials from 17 countries, including Cuba, South Sudan, Nepal, Vanuatu, Lesotho, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Honduras, Surinam, Grenada, Bolivia, Egypt and Venezuela came to our university for study and research. Teachers from colleges and schools of Jilin University, namely, School of Foreign Language Education, School of Economics, School of Law, School of International and Public Affairs, School of Continuing Education, Research Institute of Higher Education, High School attached to Jilin University and Changchun Vocational Institute of Technology formed a professional teaching team and delivered courses of rich content in various forms, such as basic education in China, education law, international strategies of higher education, graduate education, minority education, vocational education, continuing education, distance education educational and innovative ecosystem, system of course innovation, and innovative education, international education and cultural exchange, exploration of undergraduate education model under the context of globalization. During the seminar, students will be engaged in communications and discussions on relevant education issues in Beijing Normal University and Zhejiang University.
Jilin University has organized the foreign-aid training programs of the Ministry of Commerce for 16 consecutive years in which 766 officials from 47 countries have participated.
