Bursar Du Li Attended the 8th AC21 International Forum and the 180 Anniversary Ceremony of Chemnitz University of Technology

From April 29 to May 3, invited by Academic Consortium 21 (AC21) and Chemnitz University of Technology and entrusted by President Li Yuanyuan, Du Li, on behalf be Jilin University, attended the 8th AC21 International Forum and the 180 anniversary ceremony of Chemnitz University of Technology in Chemnitz University of Technology.

The theme of this year’s forum is Science-based Innovation Network of Social Transition. About 150 people, including presidents of AC21 member universities, famous scholars, representatives from Saxony government and companies, delivered keynote speeches, and held group discussions and seminars.

Jilin University will be the rotating chairing university for AC21 in 2018 to hold the 9th AC21 International Forum. Du Li took over the symbol of rotating chairing university for AC21from the executive president of Chemnitz University of Technology at the closing ceremony, and made a speech. Du Li expressed her congratulations to the 180th anniversary of Chemnitz University of Technology and the success of the forum, introduced the educational advantages of Jilin University and the strategy of galvanizing Jilin University through opening up, and reported on the preparation progress for the 9th International Forum. Taking this opportunity, Du Li, on behalf of Jilin University, also invited AC21 member universities to attend the 70th anniversary of Jilin University in this September.

On the sidelines of the forum, Du Li had discussions and talks on scientific research cooperation, faculty and student exchanges, and other cooperation intentions with presidents from Chemnitz University of Technology, Nagoya University and Stellenbosch University and vice presidents and representatives from University of Strasbourg, North Carolina State University, University of Minnesota, University of Freiburg, University of Adelaide and University of Canterbury.

The Academic Consortium for the 21st Century (AC21) was an international academic association established on June 24, 2002 in Nagoya University, aiming to promote universities’ innovation through cooperation in educational, research and management fields. AC21 currently has 19 member universities, with the Secretariat in Nagoya University. Jilin University was one of the founding members of AC21. Through participating in International Forum, Student Forum, special seminar and other activities, Jilin University enhanced the academic exchanges with other AC21 members. The 9th AC21 International Forum will be held in July 2018 in Jilin University.
