Executive Vice President Bing Zheng Attended the “2nd Global China Dialogue: Transculturality and New Global Governance of 2015 UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange”

Invited by CCPN Global, Bing Zheng, the Executive Vice President, visited London, England to attend the meeting of “2nd Global China Dialogue: Transculturality and New Global Governance”, held by British Academy from November 23 to 24, of 2015 UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange and made a keynote speech.

The meeting is co-sponsored by CCPN Global, China Media Center of University of Westminster, Fudan Development Institute of Fudan University, and Young Entrepreneur Society Global. The meeting conducted dialogues and exchanges with the theme of “Transculturality and New Global Governance”. Mr. Xiang Xiaowei (Minister Counselor for Culture, Chinese Embassy), Lord Clement-Jones (vice group leader, China Group of cross-party parliamentary, UK), Mr. Charles Grant (Director at Centre for European Reform, and trustee of CCPN Global), Professor Martin Albrow (a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, and the Honorary Vice President of British Sociological Association), Professor Dai Yuguo (Director of China Media Center of University of Westminster), Professor Kerry Brown (Director of the Lau China Institute and Professor of Chinese Studies at King’s College London), Professor Bing Zheng (Executive Vice President of Jilin University, and Deputy President of Chinese Association of Sociology), Professor Chang Xiangqun (President of CCPN Global, and honorary professor of University College London) attended the meeting and made speeches. Professor Bing Zheng presented a keynote speech titled by “Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation in the Time of Globalization”.

The meeting consists of six agendas, including Transculturality and New Global Governance; transculturality, local governance, and social creation; new media and cultural practice of globalization; arts and transculturality of China and Europe; study on sustainable urbanization in China and Europe; and “dialogue of cultures” under the perspective of comparison. Around 50 scholars from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, UK, US, France, Belgium, Italy and other regions attended the meeting.

December 2014, CCPN Global and Young Entrepreneur Society Global held the first Global China Dialogue successfully. 2015 is also the UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange. China and UK has held a series of high quality cultural activities reciprocally. This meeting is the only arena for thoughts exchange and social creativity in UK-China Year.
