Jilin University held an online meeting with the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia on July 8.
Representatives from USQ included Prof. Ren Yi, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International); Prof. Chris McLellan, Head of School of Health and Wellbeing; Associate Prof. Christina Campbell, Associate Head of School (Learning and Teaching/Student Success); Associate Prof. Lainie Cameron, Associate Head of School (Outreach and Clinical Practice); Mr. John Latham, Discipline Leader (Paramedicine); Ms. Lee Masher-Kolbe (Program Director - Paramedicine); Ms. Guie Hartney, Director of International Relations and Global Partnership; Mr. Adam Lam, International Business Manager.
They were joined by representatives from Jilin University Dr. Zhang Guangcui, Director of Office of Global Engagement; Prof. Chen Li, Dean of School of Nursing; Prof. Li Kun, Vice Dean of School of Nursing; Dr. Wang Rui, Deputy Director of Undergraduate Education; Ms. Bai Yin, Deputy Director of Office of Global Engagement.
The two parties held consultations on further promoting practical cooperation between the two universities, especially in the field of paramedicine.
Prof. Ren Yi and Dr. Zhang Guangcui briefed the meeting on cooperation background and current situations of the two universities, and reached consensus on the future cooperation in student joint training program, mutual visits of faculty members, and joint scientific research.
Prof. Chris McLellan and Prof. John Latham gave detailed introduction to USQ’s Paramedicine Discipline as well as its talent cultivation of the USQ School of Health and Wellbeing. Prof. Chen Li and Prof. Li Kun explained JLU’s course evaluation policy and discipline connection in paramedicine.
The two sides agreed that a visiting student program and short-term training program will be carried out in the field of paramedicine.
